By Lucky Kitchen (2001)
What is your name or your group/label/organisation name?
Gagarin Records is my label.
Felix Kubin is my wife.
Klangkrieg is my daughter, fear and life.
What is your brief history?
Born, school, school, fascinated by horror and surrealistic movies, started a band at age 11 (Universalanschluss), then a 2nd one that was rather succesful in Hamburgs punk/wave scene from 1982-85 at age 13 (Die Egozentrischen 2), then a 3rd one that still exists (my noise band Klangkrieg, about 10 releases so far), then a 4rth one that was part of a Dada-Communist Party where we sang militant East-German songs (Liedertafel Margot Honecker), studied illustration and animation, lots of live performances in Europe, art exhibitions, own magazine, radio programme, record label, then finally I became reborn as Felix Kubin in 1998 which was good for my history. My old identity rests in peace, my parents bring fresh lillies to my grave once a year.
What are you up to now?
Play a lot live, work with artists in- and outside of Germany on different ideas and levels, realize film and radio art projects, get drunk without getting a cold, STAY INDEPENDENT. That is most important in capitalism if you want to tell the truth and FUCK them.
What do you want for the future?
Survive both mentally and financially. Help talented artists to get in contact with good people. Release and support music of young wild genious musicians.
Do you have a website? Why or why not?
I don't believe in internet. I believe in written comments on billboards and spitting into people's garden.
But I have a web page like everyone has a catalogue page in the worldwidecatalogue: it's www.felixkubin.com
